The Rocky Horror Picture Show Comes to The Renner

ZANESVILLE, OH – Get ready to do the Time Warp down at the Renner Theater.
The Renner cast has been hard at work putting the finishing touches on their upcoming production of the Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Bryce Seaborn, who will be playing Riffraff, says for those who haven’t seen a live performance or the 1975 movie, the show is a risqué take on the story of Frankenstein with many twists and turns along the way.
“It’s very much a show about self discovery, a couple goes on a very long journey of self discovery and lots of music is involved.” Seaborn said. “Lots of singing and dancing, places where the audience can participate, which is very heavily encouraged, as well as costumes if you want to wear those. As well as prop bags, things that can interact with the show that a lot of people are used to. No props from outside of the theater, only props that are in the bags sold at the theater are allowed, so no sneaking them on, in those costumes.”
The Rocky Horror Picture Show contains adult content, so those 18 and under, this show is not recommended for you.
Tickets are $15 for seniors 55 and older and $18 for adults.
Ethan Rodriguez, who will be playing Dr. Frank-N-Furter, says there will also be a prop bag available for purchase at the doors for an additional $5.
He also took some time to talk about his character and what this role means to him.
“Dr. Frank-N-Furter, he likes to dress up like a girl.” Rodriguez said. “In doing that, people find him kind of weird and zany but by him doing that he is very comfortable with himself , he does a lot of weird things throughout the show but, it’s okay because he’s having fun while he’s doing it and that’s the good part. But Tim Curry was the original Dr. Frank-N-Furter and it’s been 50 years since then and being Frank-N-Furter now, I’m 20-years-old and this show came out 50 years ago, it is honestly so very confusing at times because I want to be myself but then I also want to pay tribute to the character, so I have to find this balance.”
Tickets for the Renner’s production of the Rocky Horror Picture show can be purchased at the door on show night or at therenner.org.
The show opens on Friday June 5th, with more shows happening on June 6th and 7th and then will conclude the following weekend, June 12-14th.
