The SEAT Street Routes are Back and Showing Appreciation

MUSKINGUM COUNTY, Ohio- The South East Area Transit (SEAT) street routes are back providing the community with safe bus rides throughout the community.
Howard Stewart, Transit Director for SEAT, said to get back in the swing of things, the bus will be free for the rest of the year.
“We are hoping that brings back a lot of our riders that used to use the street route. We run our street routes from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and we go north, south, east and west as far as that’s concerned,” Stewart stated. “Buses run every hour up Maple Avenue and every ½ hour and ½ hour down Putnam Pine and Greenwood Taylor so we’re just hoping that our passengers come back to the street route and take advantage of it.”
A celebration cookout event was also held today at the transit that showed appreciation of the customers, says Katie Harrah, SEAT Marketing and Media Coordinator.
“This whole month of October we are celebrating our customers. We are having customer appreciation, we have a few other members inside, Eastside Ministry, we have Rambo doing their flu shots and we also have Muskingum Valley Health Center offering free COVID vaccines. We’re just celebrating street routes coming back and celebrating our customers here at South East Area Transit,” Harrah said.
SEAT will start charging for fare again at the beginning of the year. Harrah said to get more information for the future fare cost or any changes to please visit their Facebook page at South East Area Transit.
