Thelma Faye Moody Smailes (November 14, 1928 – July 31, 2016)

ZANESVILLE
Thelma Faye Moody Smailes, 87 of Zanesville, passed away August 1, 2016 at Genesis Hospital. She was born November 14, 1928, in Deavertown, OH a daughter of the late Clyde Burns and Caroline (Nelson) Richardson. She retired from United Technologies.

She is survived by a son Steven (Kathy) Moody; a step son Michael (Sharon) Smailes; two half brothers Bob (Peg) Burns of Deavertown and Joseph (Valerie) Richardson; five half sisters Betty Dennis of New Lexington, Belva Dingey, Joy Riley, Lula Bowman and Beverly Nelson; grandchildren Brandon (Abbey) Bates, Ashley (Joshua) Parrish, Joshua Moody, Heather Ward, Janell Davis, Julie Crossley and Kasey Brownrigg; and great grandchildren Wyatt Parrish, Cohen Bates, Lyla and Max Brownrigg, Monika and Mackenzie Crossley, Tray and Trace Davis; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her step father Ira Richardson; first husband Clarence Moody; her second husband Dwight Smailes; a half brother Cecil Richardson; a half brother Tom Burns; half sisters Dorothy Ruhl and Carolyn Mick; and five step brothers Lonnie, Delbert, Elbert, Bill and Paul Richardson and a daughter in law, Sally Moody.

Calling hours will be held 3-6PM Thursday, August 4, 2016 at THE SNOUFFER FUNERAL HOME, 1150 WEST MILITARY ROAD, ZANESVILLE. Funeral services will be held at 6PM Thursday, August 4, 2016 in the Snouffer Chapel with Pastor Tim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Deerfield Cemetery at a later date.
