This Week’s Pet of The Week Wants to be Everyone’s Best Friend

ZANESVILLE, OH – This week’s Animal Shelter Society’s Pet of the Week is a bounding ball of energy.

Meet Dexter! He’s a 5 and ½ month old terrier mix, does well with other dogs and cats, and just wants to be everyone’s best friend.

Dexter’s perfect home would be with a younger family due to his high energy.

Tim Matheney, the Co-Owner of Precision Roofing, said Dexter has stolen everyone’s heart at work.

“When we were at the shelter doing the new doors inside, that’s when we were introduced to Dexter.,” Matheney said. “We saw him inside, he was great with all of our employees and everyone just absolutely loved him.”

April Gibson, the Executive Director of the Animal Shelter Society, said they are so grateful for all of the work that’s been done at the shelter.

“This past week we were able to walk through with Susan Holdren of the Straker Foundation as well as Tim Matheney and Justin Thompson, the Co-Owners of Precision Roofing, to see the new kennel doors that were made possible because of those two organizations,” Gibson said. “It was just a great thing and we’re so thankful. It’s just not for the safety of my staff and for the community, but the animals.”

Gibson also said that it’s almost time for the 8th annual Yappy Hour. It will be held at the Zanesville Country Club on March 7th from 6:30 to 8:30 PM.
