Thornville Celebrates Fourth of July with Annual Parade

Thornville, Ohio — Thornville came alive as residents lined the streets for the town’s annual Fourth of July parade. It is a tradition that brings the community together each year.
Families and friends gathered in festive red, white and blue, cheering on floats, fire trucks and marching bands as they made their way through the heart of downtown.
“It’s one of my favorite holidays because people come together. It’s a small town living, we have so much to be thankful for in not only Thornville but everywhere and people in general are good. We like to celebrate our country today,” said Perry County Probate Juvenile Court Judge Luann Cooperrider.
The event is made possible by the local activity committee who work year-round to make Independence Day memorable for all ages.
“I’m on the Thornville activity committee that puts this event on we have a huge parade, it’s wonderful and then we have things at the park, fireworks this evening…food, games, a hot dog eating contest! I’m in it, I haven’t eaten in 4 days so I’m going to try to win,” Cooperrider joked. “All kinds of good stuff for fun family events.”
The celebration wraps up with a fireworks display lighting up the Thornville sky, a grand finale to a day filled with community pride and patriotic spirit.
