Three people given hospitality awards

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- Three local hospitality workers were honored for all of their hard work.

May 7th, started National Tourism Week and Zanesville-Muskingum County Convention and Visitor’s Bureau  kicked off the week of festivities by recognizing the hard work of several people in our tourist community.

“We certainly appreciate all that they do for the area. They are the ones that meet and great our guest on a daily basis. They are the ones that are always working in the hospitality trenches and because of their kindness and giving back is the reason we have folks keep coming back year after year,” said Vice President of the Chamber of Commerce, Kelly Ashby.

Carole Montague was awarded for working at the John and Annie Glenn Museum since it opened in 2002. Jenni Wyatt was honored for all of her hard work at the Zanesville Holiday Inn Express and Suites. The final recipient was Jennifer Parson who made a difference in a cancer patients life while working at the Zanesville Hampton Inn.

“We had a guest come in, that was going through chemotherapy, and had family in town. The girls that I work with helped me take care of him for a week and every time he’d come in for chemo the girls would all chip in and bring something special and check in on him,” said Parson.
