Thursday Power Outage Update

It been just about one week since the big storms slammed through Zanesville and the rest of the state.  Still 142-thousand people are without service in Ohio and now American Electric Power President Pablo Vegas says A-E-P’s focus is turning to Newark and Athens where 87,000 outages need to be repaired in those two areas.  Here in Muskingum County there are still 14,310 A-E-P customers without service…in Guernsey County it’s 6,147…Perry County 3,954, Coshocton County 1,988, Morgan County 1,152, Noble County 390…and Licking County at 18,474. A-E-P says 90 percent of the Newark service area which includes Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties should have service by Sunday at midnight.  90 percent of the McConnelsville area should be back in service by tomorrow at 6:00 p.m.  The Guernsey Muskingum Electric Cooperative says there are still 1600 customers without service.  99 percent of those customers should have power restored by Friday evening.
