State Testing
ZANESVILLE, OHIO (WHIZ) – State testing is under way, but many elementary schools across the state have had to cancel classes due to bad weather. According to the State Board Of Education schools can postpone the tests as many days as they cancel during the testing period.
American Red Cross Blood Drive
MUSKINGUM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – School closures have also caused a decline in blood donations due to canceled blood drives. To make up for the missed blood drives, the Muckingum Valley Chapter of the American Red Cross is holding a blood drive at its east pike location on march 20th.
Nominations for the Annual Women of Achievement Event

Zachary Rogers Sentenced
MUSKINUGM COUNTY, OHIO (WHIZ) – The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office says that 23-year-old Zachary Rogers went before Judge Kelly Cottrill and received 11 years in prison for and ATM bank robbery this past August. Rogers was charged with two counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of theft, and one count of kidnapping.
State of the State Address
WILMINGTON, OHIO (AP) – Governor John Kasich pressed for more tax cuts in his State of the State Address last night in Wilmington. Democratic legislative leaders were quickly critical of Kasich’s tax and education funding proposals, suggesting the republican’s views for Ohio are "disconnected from reality."
