Toth Shines In Shutout Win For New Lexington

NEW LEXINGTON, OH- The New Lexington Panthers welcomed the John Glenn Muskies to town looking for their fourth consecutive win. The Muskies have been on the other side of that and were looking to avoid their fourth loss in a row.
Top of the first inning, Tatem Toth was the Panthers starter and he gets Noah Winland chasing at a breaking ball outside. Toth went the distance for the Panthers.
Now into the bottom half of the inning, Gunner Fox gets the start on his birthday for John Glenn. Toth lifts one into deep left field and it hits off the base of the fence. The pitcher is helping himself out with a double.
Very next batter was Isaac McGill and he skies it to centerfield, Justin Stambush tries to make the play in center but out of his reach. Toth comes around to score and McGill trades places with him at second with back-to-back doubles. 1-0 New Lex lead.
Still in the first with two outs, Lane Baker grounds one to the right side. Aydan Thompson makes a play at second and sees Mason Pyle trying to score. The throw is on time, but it was unable to be dug out by Jesse Driskel. The Panthers go up 2-0 and didn’t look back after this inning as they would go onto win their fourth straight game with a shutout win 10-0. Tatem Toth finished 4-4 at the plate to go along with his complete game shutout on the mound.
