Toyota Dealership Beginning an Expensive Renovation
A local car dealer is planning some big renovations.
Starting Monday, Tansky Toyota on Maple Avenue will begin a $700,000 dollar make-over which will be complete in Feburary.
"We will be doing a complete new show room from one end of the building to the other… We will have a complete new customer waiting area and lounge, flat screen TV, and coffee-bar. We will have a new service drive through where our customers can drive in out of the rain and weather," says Jim Kobunski the Tansky Toyota Vice President and General Manager.
Tansky is solely paying for the renovation. Kobunski says the contractor doing the work will hire local subcontractors to put more local people to work. After the renovations Toyota will give Tansky’s more cars to sell. Kobunski says that while we may be in a recession Tansky and Toyota are looking toward the future.
"We know there are some hard times in the car business and it has been that way four times in the 40 years I have been here, that it really got bad, but it always comes out of it, the U.S. is very resilient, they bounce back and they will again," tells Kobunski.
Tansky will move next door to 3240 Maple Avenue while the renovations take place.
