Tri-Valley Band to Host Fundraiser for Band Uniforms

Scottie Pride is asking for community support in their efforts to buy new band uniforms.

A fundraiser on April 9- will help them raise the $30,000 needed to outfit the musicians. The ‘Hawaiian Paradise’ will feature a dinner, a DoubleCut concert, and a reverse raffle with a chance to win up to $5,000 in cash prizes. Junior percussion player Ryan Harris said the band loves performing for the black and gold community.

" I like expressing myself musically," said Harris. "It’s a thing you can always get better at no matter how old you are." "That’s what you do. You make the music and then you perform it for people and express yourselves."

While the band loves to perform, they’re stepping out in uniforms that are over 20 years old and they’re hoping to make the look match the sound.

"It gives you that new kind of confidence, like we look good and we sound good," said Junior snare drum player Samantha Engle.

Tickets are $100 each and ompanion tickets are also available for just $25, but will not include a chance to enter in the reverse raffle. For tickets you can call (740) 754-1141.
