Dresden, Ohio- An Anonymous letter to the Tri-Valley school board members sparked an internal investigation.

The letter alleges that Tri-Valley School Board Member, Jason Schaumleffel, engaged in sexual misconduct at Muskingum University and that he was expelled from the university and is now banned from campus. School Board President, Eddie Brock, explains they held a special board meeting addressing the situation.

“We invited board member Mr.Schuamleffel  to really see if he couldn’t share with us what was going on. What happens in Executive Session is obviously privileged information so we can’t share that but that is the actions we are taking it was all based on obviously on an anonymous letter we get those things periodically but we have also had some follow-up phone call conversations and things like that and it kinda gave us a little pause that we felt it was important to check into”

No information has been released on Schaumleffel’s standing with Muskingum University and the board is still investigating the allegations but nonetheless Brock understands the communities concern.

“The responsibility of elected officials and administration to really represent our district and the people in our community and say obviously there is something here and you can address it for us we would certainly like to know. I’m sure our folks in the community that elected Mr.Schaumleffel would like to know. So it was really kinda one of those make this all go away release the records and we will be done with it but to this point none of that has happened.”

At the board meeting Schaumleffel refused to comment on the allegations and insisted that they were false. The board also voted in favor that Schaumleffel should resign but he refused to resign at this time.
