Tri-Valley Sweeps West Muskingum in MVL Crossover

DRESDEN, OH – It could be baseball or softball, but no matter which spring sport is the topic of conversation, it should be pretty well known by this point that Tri-Valley will be discussed in a high light when it comes to MVL play.

Sitting in third in the “big school” division, the “Lady Dawgs” came in against small school opponent West Muskingum and the Tornadoes made sure to make it a tough fight for the hosts.

West Muskingum managed to “out-hit” Tri-Valley, ten to six, led by Cadence Puckett’s three hits, including an RBI, plus Gabbi Hammer’s two runs batted in for the Tornadoes.

Tri-Valley took the lead for good in the bottom of the sixth thanks to base hits from Caity Journey, Tessa Green, and Paiton Murphy. Murphy was on the mound in the seventh to pick up the save and squash the Tornadoes’ late rally. Tri-Valley is on the road on Monday against “big school” leaders John Glenn, with West Muskingum hosting River View on Friday.

Over in baseball, Tri-Valley remains unbeaten in the MVL with a 10-2 victory over West Muskingum, and it was all “Dawgs” right from the start. They scored two runs each in the first and second innings, with three more in the fourth and sixth to get the 10-2 victory at home. Tri-Valley managed ten runs on just six hits, capitalizing on six West Muskingum errors in the game and eleven drawn walks.

Tri-Valley travels to Meadowbrook on Friday, while West Muskingum gets a day off until the Tornadoes are at Zanesville on Saturday.
