Tri-Valley’s Polk Headed to Duquesne

Tri-Valley lineman Hunter Polk is jumping from one winning program to the next.

The four-time MVL champ and three-year letterman for the ‘Dawgs signed with FCS power Duquesne Wednesday in Dresden.

"I’ll have every opportunity to get four years of playing time," Polk said. "I’m really proud and 100 percent bought in."

Polk initially committed to Eastern Michigan before reopening his recruitment. The Scottie senior also drew interest from Eastern Kentucky and Youngstown State, but decided that the Dukes’ coaching staff was the best fit.

"You can generally tell that they’re honest and just great people," Polk said of Duquesne’s staff, which is headed by Jerry Schmitt. "They’re a lot like the coaches here that I’ve grown up around, and we’ve done a lot of great things here. I think that I’ll be able to continue a lot of great things at Duquesne."

Polk plans on playing offensive tackle for Duquesne and entering the business school. The Dukes finished 8-4 last season, losing to William & Mary in the first round of the FCS playoffs.
