Trulight Ministries One Night in a Boc Returns
ZANESVILLE, OH – For one night, a simple box will become a powerful way to bring hope to those without a place to call home.
Trulight Ministries is preparing for its annual One Night in a Box Challenge. Participants will spend the night in a box to better understand the struggles faced by people experiencing homelessness and other hardships.
“We want to challenge people to come out and spend one night in a box. Get away from the luxury of your temperature-controlled rooms, your walls, your warm mattress, and blankets, and pillows, leave the security of your locked doors and come out and experience what it would be like for one night to be homeless.” Pastor Ed Swartz said.
There is no cost to participate, but participants are encouraged to ask family, friends, or coworkers to sponsor them. The money raised will benefit Trulight Ministries and the services they provide. The challenge will begin at 7 p.m. on Friday, September 25th.
“We usually grill out, have hot dogs and hamburgers. Around 10 p.m. we’ll pass out the cardboard boxes. Pastor Swartz said. “Then everybody picks out spots in the parking lot and kind of camp together.”
The One Night in a Box Challenge will be held at Trulight Ministries, located at 807 Putnam Avenue in Zanesville. Those who make it until 7 a.m. will be treated to breakfast provided by Denny’s.
