Two arrested in Pursuit

COSHOCTON, Ohio–Authorities in Coshocton County announced that two arrests were made following a pursuit that spanned three counties.

Coshocton County Sheriff’s Office reported that shortly before 1:30 p.m. Friday they received a call from Rural King advising a male subject just took tools from the store and left in a U haul truck.

Authorities said a short time later a deputy got behind this vehicle and initiated a traffic stop traveling west bound on State Route 16 but the  vehicle refused to stop leading several deputies into a pursuit  on State Route 16 West.

Authorities said the pursuit continued on State Route 16 into Muskingum County and also into Licking County. During this pursuit this vehicle went left of center several times and even went into the opposite lane of travel on the four lane. This vehicle then turned off State Route 16 onto State Route 586.

This pursuit then continued onto several County and Township Roads before coming back into Coshocton County on County Road 14.  Authorities said the vehicle was still refusing to stop and even struck one of the cruisers involved in the pursuit.  Deputies were finally able to force the vehicle off the roadway and causing it to come to a complete stop on County Road 436 in Washington Township.

As a result of the stop, two male individuals were taken into custody. 65-year-old Andrew A. Caroppoli from Springfield, Ohio was the driver of this vehicle and has six outstanding warrants in multiple counties in Ohio and also a warrant out of the state of Pennsylvania. 36-year-old Tyler S. Dowler also from Springfield, Ohio was the passenger of this vehicle.

Both males remain in custody at the Justice Center. This is an ongoing investigation and no other information will be released at this time.
