Two Newark police officers arrested in unrelated incidents

Newark, Ohio- The Newark Division of Police said Two Newark Police Officers were arrested overnight in two separate and unrelated incidents.
The first incident took place in the city of Heath late Saturday night. Â Heath police officers found probable cause to arrest officer Tim Hansel (photo on the right). Â Heath police made the arrest and transported Hansel to the Licking County Justice Center.
The second incident occurred in the city of Newark, also overnight on Saturday. Â Newark police responded to a call of an assault and found probable cause to arrest officer Dale Queen (photo on the left). Â Queen was then transported to the Licking County Justice Center on an assault charge.
Police said officers were both off duty at the time of the incidents.
According to a press release from the Newark police, Queen was hired in April 1994 and Hansel was hired in June 2009.
Both officers were immediately placed on administrative leave. Â Police said that an internal investigation will take place once criminal cases are finalized.
