Two Sentenced in Shooting Incident

Muskingum County- The Muskingum County Prosecutor’s Office said Christopher Stevens and Oscar Thomsen have been sentenced for their roles in a shooting that occurred in February of last year at a residence on Adams Street.

Both individuals were convicted of felonious assault with a firearm specification.

The prosecutor’s office said Stevens will serve nine to thirteen years and Thomsen will served eleven to fifteen years. Office said on February 6, 2024, officers responded to a weapons call reporting a male shot at the residence. Officers discovered Benjamin Hanning suffering from a gunshot wound to his left leg.

The investigation revealed that Thomsen, along with Stevens and an associate, Courtney “Peaches” McDonald, entered the home armed and assaulted Hanning, a local drug dealer, in a dispute over narcotics. Thomsen struck Hanning with a pistol and shot him, while Stevens played a key role in facilitating the crime.
