Underwater Fantasies Featured at ZAAP Gallery

Artist Sharon Dean will be featured as February’s Featured Artist of the Month..

An artist her whole life, Dean finally reached her goal of making her dream job her day job and she said ZAAP has played a major role.

"ZAAP has been a wonderful part of that transformation," said Dean. "Bringing it forward, they are a collective of artists in the area that gives us a platform to show our work and be able to expose people to artists in the area that are working."

Dean’s collection at the ZAAP gallery in downtown Zanesville will take patrons underwater to explore octopi and sea serpents that have recently inspired deans acrylic paintings and some pieces will feature more than just paint.

"Recently I’ve started to add other pieces like some of my artwork has like feathers added to it and other objects are are stones," said Dean. "On one of my pieces has some dust from the meteor crash site from the serpent mound."

The First Friday Art Walk starts at 5 p.m. tomorrow evening.
