United Way Launches 2016 Campaign

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- The United Way of Muskingum, Perry, and Morgan Counties launched the 2016 campaign.
Community members were invited to Bryan’s Place for a breakfast. Executive Director Meg Deedrick hopes this launch gets the community excited for the United Way’s new campaign.
“We’re looking at goals a little bit differently,” Deedrick said. “Obviously, we’re measuring the impact, measuring the number of people that we reach, and the difference that it makes in people’s lives. Money helps make that happen. It’s not the only thing but it is an important thing that helps make that happen.”
Deedrick estimates the United Way needs to invest $100 every hour, every day, for 24 hours a day for an entire year to provide the level of service needed in this community. Holly Voltz is this year’s chair. Voltz said there’s a lot of neat things the United Way is doing to kick start this new campaign season and engage the community.
“There’s a couple events to kick it off,” Voltz said. “There’s the kickball tournament with The Fieldhouse Foundation tomorrow night. It starts about 5:30 p.m. and it will be a great event. If you could stop by make sure you stop by. And then Friday, we’re doing an event with Habitat for Humanity in Crooksville. So, that’s two great events. You can get in there and see the dollars that work for this community.”
