ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The United Way of Muskingum, Perry and Morgan Counties fill many understated roles in the community and are looking to expand their impact.

The organization recently hired a new Community Engagement Coordinator, Kasey Hunt, who has earned a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Ohio University.

“I am going to be handling all things campaign oriented,” Hunt said. “So I will be doing the kickoff, which will start pretty soon and that has to do with community superheroes. And so we’re going to be highlighting our partners and they’re going to be picking a superhero from their organization or business and the public will get to vote on that. And then we will get to put them on billboards in September.”

Hunt is from Lebanon, Ohio and is familiar with the state’s socio-economic environment. She is enthusiastic about building relationships with community partners and strengthening their involvement in community service.

“So we have partnerships in five different categories, which is large business, small business, government, education and social services,” Hunt said. “And so they’re going to send us a picture of their superhero, dressed in their brand and it can be as fun or creative as they want. And we will put them on our social media’s, Facebook, Linked In, and Instagram. And the public will get to vote on their favorite superhero from each category. And the voting works by donating, so.”

Voting for the community superheroes will take place online between July 15th, and July 31st.
