ZANESVILLE, Ohio– The Executive Director of the Muskingum County Center for Seniors met with county commissioners.
Ann Combs requested a wage increase on behalf of county employees.
“We found that when the commissioners passed a resolution in 2003 to rise employees that were making under $10 an hour to $10 an hour rate,” said Combs. “Our employees were not necessarily included in that. And that change did not take place. So my request to commissioners today is that they would consider a pay adjustment of 13%.”
Combs said things are moving right along with construction at the Senior Center building at the concer of 4th and Shinnick.
“The senior center we’re excited, it’s moving right along in it’s construction process. The elevator is being installed. If you’ve driven by you’ve seen a lot of work going on in the parking lot. That’s to allow for ADA compliance, handicap parking, and also too help with the terrain to level off some areas,” said Combs.
Combs said she’s looking forward to a fall move in date.
