UPDATE: Person Reported Shot near Adamsville

Authorities responded to the scene of a shooting in a wooded area near Adamsville.

According to LT. Mike Lococq with the Muskingum County Sherrif’s office, a 26-year old male was shot in the chest area in an apparent hunting related accident.

It happened shortly after 3:30PM Monday in a wooded area near 5475 French road. The victim was transported to Genesis Good Samaritan Hospital.

No word at this time on his condition, but Lococq says the victim was not responsive at the time he was taken.

Adamsville Fire and EMS also responded to the scene. Medflight was also put on stand by, but was later called off.

The investigation has now been turned over to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
