UPDATE: State Route 93 Reopens After Gas Leak in Crooksville

**Update** The scene is now clear and State Route 93 is back open following the gas leak in the Crooksville late Friday evening.

According to Zanesville Assistant Fire Chief David Huey there were two leaks reportedly from the same line at Watt Hill Road. Columbia Gas as well as Roseville, Crooksville, New Lexington, South Zanesville, and Zanesville Fire Departments responded to the leak. Huey said Zanesville Fire Department received the call at 8:22 p.m for assistance with gas meters.

The leak occurred just over a month after a gas leak in the same location lead to an evacuation of the Crooksville community. Huey said two leaks were found bubbling from the ground when Columbia Gas was contacted. A Distribution representative came out and checked leaks and notified a transition leads person to give the fire departments an all clear and said there was nothing they could do with the small leaks at the time.

A conference call between local Fire Departments and Columbia Gas has been set up to discuss the issue.
