Vacant House Fire May Have Been Set
The Zanesville Fire Department was called to a vacant house fire early Tuesday morning. It happened around 5:30 at 746 Pine Street. Fire Chief Craig Stemm says the fire started on the porch. Initially fire fighters thought there were people living in the home, but no one was there when crews arrived. The home did not have utilities connected to it. Chief Stemm says he is not sure if this vacant house fire in connected to other similar fires in Zanesville and not sure if it was started by people living in the house or an arsonist. Stemm says the case will be turned over to the Police Department Detective Bureau for further investigation. No injuries were reported.
