Value Auto Action is raising thousands for flood relief efforts

CROOKSVILLE, Ohio – A Perry County business is raising tens of thousands of dollars for flood recovery efforts.

Value Auto Auction, located on Route 93, has been partnering with the car dealerships they work with to help the community as well as employees affected by the flood. Emily Smith is the marketing and events manager for Value Auto Auction and explains how their fundraising efforts work.

“We have a lot of departments kind of pitching in and reaching out to their customers that they work with, day-to-day,” Smith said. “So that’s looked like reaching out to a dealer partner and saying, ‘hey do you want to donate a donation car?’ And all of those proceeds will go to the community. Or they’ll pledge, say, a dollar amount per unit sold or bought for that week. Say we have a customer that sells 30 cars, maybe they donate $10 per car and all of those things add up. And then we also ask them at checkout if they would like to donate at checkout.”

Value Auto Auction works with dealerships from an estimated 200-mile radius. Every Thursday, the business auctions hundreds of cars, so donations build up quickly. According to general manager Adam King, they will have raised more than $50,000 by the end of Thursday’s auction.

“… we appreciate everybody that’s donated. There have been some people who reached out who were not a part of, you know, our clientele or our partners, business partners, that wanted to donate. And it’s been really great to see everybody close and the entire community pitch in and try to help all the victims. ”

The money will be going to several local organizations including the Community Foundation for Perry County, the Roseville American Legion and the Perry Animal Welfare Society (PAWS).
