Van Fossen, Willis earn All-Ohio golf honors

UPPER ARLINGTON, Ohio – John Glenn’s Dylan Van Fossen made his third and final state golf tournament count, finishing fourth to earn First-Team All-Ohio honors at Ohio State’s Scarlet Course Saturday.

The Muskie senior fired a Day Two score of five-over 77 and turned in an overall score of 151 to secure fourth place in the D-II tournament. Bexley sophomore Trevor Binau earned medalist honors with a 144.

Newark Catholic senior Nick Willis also made First-Team All-Ohio, coming in fourth in Division III with an overall score of 151 at NorthStar Golf Club. Willis shot a six-over 78 on Day One and rallied with a one-over 73 on Day Two. The Green Wave finished 10th as a team with a 705.

In Division II team action, the MVL champion New Lexington Panthers came in 12th after posting a team score of 693. Kolten Foraker paced the Orange and Black with a two-day score of 163.

In Division II boys individual action, Sheridan sophomore Heath Knight tied for 51st place with a 175.

In Division II girls individual action, Lakewood senior Crystal Hanbaum finished 26th by shooting a 170 at Ohio State’s Gray Course.
