Veterans honored at the Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation Auction

ZANESVILLE, OH- The Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation hosted a memorable Veterans Appreciation Weekend, featuring a variety of events and activities to honor local heroes.
Today the foundation held an all-day auction at The Barn in Zanesville with a 50/50 raffle, and live auction items. There was also free Live music added to the festive atmosphere, with performances by Carson Clouse at 3 and Up 2 No Good at 7. Attendees were encouraged to stop by, support local veterans, and take a moment to thank them for their service
“This is our big money raising weekend that we do all of our events for, like the banner project downtown, the honor flight for all of the veterans, and then our Christmas for all the veterans in the nursing homes, that project, this all gets funded by this weekend and also we couldn’t do this without our sponsors and thanks to everybody in Zanesville and the surrounding communities for jumping on board with our Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation, and it’s just been a joy to work with them,” said Steve Galloway, V.A.F. Treasurer and Founding Member.
Quilts were also presented to several veterans, including Tony Collins, recognized for his over 12 years in the Navy, in a touching ceremony that highlighted the community’s gratitude for their service.
“It’s just that the veterans need to be recognized and especially here in Muskingum County, that’s where all of our money raised it stays right here in Muskingum County and for our local veterans and we couldn’t be happier to support them,” said Galloway.
The Veteran’s Appreciation Foundation looks forward to continuing its mission of supporting and honoring veterans in the community.
