Veterans needed for honor flight

ZANESVILLE, Ohio-Â The Veterans Appreciation Foundation spoke at the Zanesville Noon Rotary Club Tuesday afternoon.
The foundation is looking for local veterans to participate in their fully funded honor flight. They are looking for veterans who served in World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
Wayne Clark with the Veterans Appreciation Foundation, said they have the trip funded already they just don’t have enough veterans signed up.
“So really we’re out asking these organizations to supply us people we can send, we already raised the money,” said Clark.
The flight takes place in May and is at no cost to veterans. It departs from Columbus and each veteran is provided with a guardian to escort them.
“It’s just a marvelous honor for these guys and girls, so we just want to be a part of getting Muskingum County people involved and giving them that honor,” said Clark.
There are 20 spots available and applications must be submitted before January.
The Veterans Appreciation Foundation has also raised money for the Wounded Warrior Project and Ohio Flags of Honor.
For those who are interested you can contact Terry’s Tavern, Green Valley Golf Course or Fink’s Harley Davidson to inquire about an application.
