Voters Race to the Polls

Voters Race to the PollsZANESVILLE, Ohio- It’s presidential primary day in Zanesville and all across Ohio.

One poll worker we talked to Tuesday on Blue Avenue described turnout as “very heavy.” One of the key match-ups is Governor John Kasich versus businessman Donald Trump. Kasich’s hopes hinge on beating Trump. We talked with some voters earlier Tuesday.

“I haven’t missed an election since I was 18 years old. I’ve voted in every primary and every presidential election since then. Voting early is important to me because it gives all citizens a voice. They get a voice in who they choose to lead them. If you don’t vote and you don’t pick than you really have no reason to complain about what’s going on in our government. So it’s important to vote so that you have a voice,” said Bill Ballenger.

Another voter we talked to said voting is quick and easy.

“It was really quick. I kind of wish I had seen more people turn out because, this is going to be for the big election. I was happy with my selection. It turned into a circus. I’d like to see a little bit of civility brought back to it. This is i think my fourth or fifth presidential election and it’s already turning much crazier then when i was a kid. And that’s not saying much,” said Brian Quattelbaum.

WHIZ News will have election results throughout the night on Whiz TV, radio and our website whiznews.com.
