War Mural Unveiled

A local artist is paying tribute to veterans.
Sean Elliot of Zanesville, unveiled his mural "American Spirit" at American Legion Post 85 in Newark.
"It’s something that Bob Steen and I came up with together, and it’s just that never ending military veterans, never say die spirit," said Artist, Sean Elliot.
Bob Steen is a long-time friend of Elliot’s. Elliot served six years in the Air Force and is an advocate for the veterans.
"I just really feel it’s important that we always let people know that we’ve got to be supportive with our veterans and how much they have sacrificed over the years and what the ones that are out there right now are fighting for our freedom, and to assure us that we are able to do things like this right here," said Executive Board Member, Bob Steen.
Legion member, John Jacobs, who recently passed away, was also included as one of the soldiers in the piece.
Elliot said it took over 115 hours to complete. His other work is displayed at Studio G in Zanesville, where he also teaches art classes.
