Fire Department to Host 57th Mother’s Day Chicken BBQ
ZANESVILLE, OH – A local Fire Department is inviting the community to come out for a nice meal.
The Washington Fire Department is hosting their 57th Mother’s Day Chicken BBQ on Sunday, May 11th, from 11AM until they sell out.
Chief of the Washington Fire Department, Gene Hanning, said the menu consists of ½ a chicken, cole slaw, applesauce, roll with butter, chips, and a dessert.
He said for the past 25 years they have completely sold out of chicken dinners and is hoping for another successful year.
“It is great, fabulous. I hope that we maintain that and I hope that we maintain the support of the people,” Chief Hanning said. “And I just think that it’s great that the people who come out and support us that much.”
Chief Hanning said they host their dinner on Mother’s Day to celebrate all the mothers out there.
He also said tickets for the BBQ are $10 and joked that the Fire Department Crew will even do the dishes for you.
“That’s what we take to buy equipment and whatever it takes to run the firehouse,” Hanning said.
The Chicken BBQ is drive-thru only and the Fire Department is located at 2310 Adamsville Rd.
