Mother’s Day is just a few days away. And if you are still on the fence for a gift for your mother. Well here’s a suggestion.
The Washington Township Fire Department will be serving their famous chicken barbecue dinner this Sunday just in time for Mother’s Day. And for the low cost of $9 not only will be receiving a delicious dinner but you’ll also be helping out a good cause too.
“And last year we sold out in record time,” said Washington Township Fire fighter Josh Snouffer. “So it starts at 11 o clock and I would advise people to get here right at 11 o clock. You can pre order. We do have carryout available. We also have deliveries available to residents in of Washington Township. So if somebody wants a dinner delivered in Washington Township if they call the fire department we would be happy to have somebody bring them a dinner.”
Snouffer said this event could not have lasted the 48 years without the support from the community.
“Not only does the members fire department and their families pitch in to help. But we have a tremendous support from the residents of the township baking pies, cakes, coming to help volunteer. It’s just been a tremendous following from the community since the beginning. And it’s gotten bigger every year,” said Snouffer.
The dine in menu consist of half a chicken, cole slaw, green beans, applesauce, roll and butter, chips, iced tea, lemonade, and dessert.
