Weasel Boy Will Debut New Beer Friday

ZANESVILLE, Ohio- In honor of International Women’s Collaboration Brew Day, a local brewery is introducing a new beer.

The Mother of Summer is a summer beer seasoned with lemon zest, coriander, and peppercorns. Weasel Boy Brewing Company in Zanesville will debut their latest beer Friday at 7 p.m.

“It just raises awareness of the fact that there are more women getting into the industry. When I first started as a professional brewer almost 9 years ago, there were not as many women in the industry,” said Weasel Boy Brewing Company Owner and Brewer Lori Wince.

Wince said this beer is in conjunction with the Pink Boots Society’s annual Big Boots Brew Day. Pink Boots Society is an organization that promotes women working in the beer industry.

“The Pink Boots Society has really helped to support women by providing scholarships for them to go to brewing school. Just to get more women interested in the industry,” said Wince.

During the 1st tapping this Friday at Weasel Boy, the women brewers will be on site to answer questions about the beer and share a toast.
