Weekend adoption ‘paw’ty at Zanesville PetSmart

ZANESVILLE, OH- PAWS of Muskingum County is hosting an adoption ‘paw’ty at the Zanesville PetSmart this weekend.
They have over 30 cats of all ages who are ready to find their forever homes. At this time all cats have a 60-dollar adoption fee but starting September 1st the fee for cats ages one and under will increase to 80 dollars. All of the cats available have been spayed or neutered.
“It’s very important to get cats seen, we don’t have a facility so getting the cats out there the only way we can do that is to bring them into PetSmart and let them be seen during events like this because we’re such limited space and we also have cats at Chatty Cat Cafe at all times, so you can go meet and interact with, sit down with, play with, it’s just the only way they can be seen, because if they’re not seen here then a lot of our older cats go unseen at all for 6 months to a year sometimes that they might be in a fosters home,” said PAWS Volunteer, Courtney Griffith.
PAWS is a group of volunteers who do their work because they love animals. If you are interested in becoming a foster for cats until they can find a permanent home, you can help with no charge to you.
“Fostering, it doesn’t have to be kittens, it could be an adult cat that the owner is going to the nursing home, we provide everything, the food, the cage, the litter, the litter box, the vet care, the fosters don’t have to put any money into it,” said PAWS Liaison with PetSmart, Kathy Tom.
PAWS will be continuing their adoption party at PetSmart tomorrow starting at 10 a.m. If you are interested in becoming a foster or in adopting a cat of your very own, you can visit PAWS tomorrow at PetSmart or visit PawsOfMuskingum.org.
