Well Known Area Educator Dies

A well known educator in Muskingum County passed away Friday.  76-year-old Don McKendry graduated from New Concord High School in 1958, and in 1962 became a Muskingum College Graduate.  He earned his Master’s Degree from Ohio University and served as a math teacher, coach, an Athletic Director and Principal in the East Muskingum School District.  He also was a member of the John Glenn High School Athletic and Alumni Hall of Fame, Rotary and Lions Clubs.  He received the Distinguished Service Award of Muskingum College. McKendry was  the Executive Director and Director Emeritus of the John and Annie Glenn Historic Site Museum.  Calling hours are Monday March 13th at the New Concord United Methodist Church from 2:00 until 8:00 pm.  Services are Tuesday at 11:00 am with calling hours from 10:00 to 11:00 am.  McKendry will be laid to rest at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Farus Funeral Home.
