Wheelchair Program Saturday

Members of the community that use the assistance of a wheelchair can get some help this weekend.

Northside Oxygen wants those using wheelchairs to attend their "Wash Your Ride" event. Saturday staff from the store will wash your wheelchair while your wait.

"We’ll do preventative matienance for them and then give them quotes if anything needs replaced and while they are doing that they can shop or look through the store and see all the products that we carry," said Supervisor Ed Guy.

Guy said all wheelchairs have common problems.

"You have breaks which is a hazard if you’re getting up and down," Guy. "They may need upholstery changed and maybe it’s not the right sized seating for them, so maybe we can adjust it or seating cushions or things like that.."

The "Wash Your Ride" event takes place at Northside Oxygen on Wabash Avenue from 10am-3pm. Those looking for information about whether Medicare will buy a power wheelchair can attend a presentation at 1pm. A Golden Lift Chair will be given away as a grand door prize.
