Why Reporting Storm Damage to the EMA is Crucial
ZANESVILLE, OH – When a storm sweeps through our town, the aftermath can leave more than just puddles and fallen branches.
Reporting storm damage to the Emergency Management Agency is an important step to help the community recovery efficiently. Storm damage reports are crucial for securing financial assistance. Detailed reports allow the EMA to apply for state and federal aid, which can fund repairs and recovery projects.
“We have to report all the damage up to the state, and then we have to reach a dollar figure before they’re going to look at giving us funding. It’s really important that people let us know that they have damage. Is it their roof, is it their siding, is it their trees, did they have cars damaged? This stuff all enters into the formula for what I send to the state,” EMA Director, Jeff Jadwin said.
You can report storm damage by calling the EMA and they will help fill out a form over the phone, ensuring your report is thorough and accurate.
You can reach the EMA at (740) 453-1655.
