Will Howard Tabbed Ohio State Starting Quarterback

COLUMBUS, OH
During a press conference on Thursday morning, Ohio State head coach Ryan Day officially announced his starting quarterback for the 2024 season, selecting graduate transfer Will Howard, who came to Columbus after four years at Kansas State.
Howard started 28 games for Kansas State, throwing for over 5,000 yards and nearly 50 touchdowns for the Wildcats. He ultimately beat out Devin Brown for the starting role, a junior who featured in just six games last year for the Buckeyes, throwing for just shy of 200 yards on the year, tossing two touchdowns and rushing for one more. Brown also obtained valuable experience as the starter in the 2023 Cotton Bowl against Missouri before being replaced due to injury.
Day and offensive coordinator Chip Kelly have one of the deeper quarterback rooms in the Big Ten, if not the whole country, with three freshman waiting in the wings: Julian Sayin, Air Noland, and Lucas Kienholz.
Howard and the rest of the Buckeyes will get to show the home fans what they can do when they open the 2024 season on Saturday, August 31st at 3:30 pm, when they host Akron at Ohio Stadium.
