Wiler Named Artcoz Artist of the Month

ZANESVILLE, OH – Kelly Wiler has been named the ArtCoz Artist of the Month.

Wiler’s passion for the arts began at a young age and it’s continued to follow her into adulthood.

She said she enjoys depicting nature scenes in what is called Intuitive Art, where you begin a piece without a plan on how the finished product will look.

“I feel like nature is healing both on a spiritual and a physical level. I think when you put that into the artwork, not only is it good for the artist that creating its but also, I think, wonderful for the person that’s going to purchase it and have it in their home as well,” Wiler said.

Wiler is also the Owner of Girl UPcycled Studio and this Friday for the Artwalk they are celebrating 10 Years here in the community.

She said she wanted to create a safe space for all artists to be able to showcase their work; she added that it’s been amazing to see the community’s support for the studio.

“It’s just been, I think, a wonderful thing. We collectively as an art community, have done our part and I think everybody has a part that they can give to their community,” Wiler said. “So if you’re somebody out there that thinks that you don’t have anything to give, you do! The world needs to see your art, no matter what it is.”

Girl UPcycled will have over a dozen artists work on display, musicians, as well as poetry readings happening during the First Friday Artwalk.

They will be open from 5 to 8PM and are located at 126 Muskingum Ave., near Weasel Boy Brewing Company.
