William “Bill” Marion Callihan

William “Bill” Marion Callihan, 88 of Roseville, died 1:00 PM, Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at his home under hospice care. He was born Sunday, July 17, 1932, in Roseville, the son of Albert Callihan and Bonita (Darling) Callihan. He married Wanda Rebecca (Canady) Callihan on Friday, December 1, 1967, and was a former member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Roseville and a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Zanesville for the past 25 years.
Bill spent the majority of his career in the pottery industry working for Nelson McCoy, Cookson, Hall and Hartstone Potteries retiring from Burley Clay. Following retirement Bill was a volunteer for the Muskingum County Welcome Center and was a step-on tour guide for the area. He later became an employee of the Muskingum County Chamber of Commerce retiring in 2017.
Bill was a former member of the McCoy Collectors Society and the Hall Collectors Society. He was a member of the “Ten Tall Men”, which was a group of Jaycees from Crooksville and Roseville who started the Crooksville Roseville Pottery Festival.
Bill is survived by his wife of the home: Wanda Rebecca Callihan; one daughter: Abby (Greg) Zink of Roseville; one grandson: Devan Zink; his special granddaughter: Lauren (Kyle) Komaromy ; three great grandchildren; one sister: Jeanine (Kenton) Frash of Grove City; one sister-in-law: Pat Callihan of Duncan Falls, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
In addition to this parents, Bill was preceded in death by one great granddaughter; four siblings: Dick Callihan, Rosemary & Dick McConnell, Bob & Harriet Callihan and Mickey & Robert Jackson and one niece.
Graveside Services will be held 10:30 AM, Tuesday December 15, 2020, at Rose Hill Cemetery, Rose Hill Road, Roseville with Rev. Mark Combs officiating. All are asked to wear masked and social distancing will be observed. A celebration of Bill’s life will be held at a later date.
