Woman Escapes Bald Hill Road Fire

A Zanesville woman escaped her home without injury after the use of heater caused the home to go up in flames.
Just before 2:30 Wednesday morning, Perry Township Fire Department responded to a house fire at 715 Bald Hill Rd. Heavy fire conditions were reported by the homeowner, Jeanne Paul, who was able to escape safely.
Crews battled the blaze until mid-morning, which left the home heavily damaged. Fire investigators said the use of a heater in an attached greenhouse may have contributed to the cause of the fire. No injuries were reported, but the homeowner lost two cats and a dog.
New Concord, Washington Township, Zanesville City, and Falls Township Fire departments were also on scene. The Red Cross has stepped in to help the homeowner with tangible needs.
