Monday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court 31-year-old Fonzie Cobler received the sentence after pleading guilty last month to two felony charges of aggravated vehicular assault, a felony charge of not stopping after an accident and a misdemeanor charge of O.V.I.

According to the Zanesville Post of the State Highway Patrol, on April 12th Cobler was driving on Interstate 70 westbound near the Norwich exit when she struck another vehicle and fled the scene. The Patrol says Cobler then hit a guardrail and mailbox before she was apprehended.

A couple in the vehicle Cobler hit, Perry and Virginia Harewood, was treated for injuries at Grant Medical Center.

In addition to her three-year-prison sentence, Judge Kelly Cottrill suspended Cobler’s driver’s license for 10 years.
