Woodlawn Avenue fire sends 2 to hospital

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – A Monday afternoon fire has sent two to Genesis and damaged a home.
The Zanesville Fire Department responded to a call at 1:30 p.m. about smoke and flames from a house at 628 Woodlawn Avenue. Fire Chief Eric Waltemire said three people were in the home at the time of the fire, including an infant.
The fire was extinguished in a matter of minutes. The two adults were transported to Genesis for minor injuries, including one woman who jumped from a second story window to avoid the fire.
“The fire seemed to be contained to the front half of the house, on the first floor,” said Chief Waltemire. “Don’t know a cause yet.”
The fire remains under investigation.
