Wright Murder Trial Goes To Jury/Update

The Jury will get instructions from Judge Mark Fleegle after closing arguments and then will be deliberating in the Dale Wright Murder Trial — We’ll update the story once a verdict is reached.

The Dale Wright murder trial is underway Wednesday in Muskingum County Common Pleas Court. Wright is accused in the death of his 5 month old child, Dash, last August. The Prosecution rested today and the Defense called Dr. Mark Shuman of Miami, Florida to the stand. He said the head injuries to the young victim could have been weeks old and that shaking the child could not have caused death, but rather whiplash. He also testified that a fall of less than three feet could have caused serious injury to the child. The Prosecution is expected to recall two witnesses today. Tuesday the Defense tried to establish the victim’s mother, Rosemary Elson, as a suspect. The trial is expected to last through Thursday.
