Wrong-way driver crashes, causes I-74 westbound closure

CINCINNATI (AP) — Authorities say six people have been taken to hospitals and westbound Interstate 74 is shut down west of Cincinnati after a wrong-way driver crashed into multiple vehicles.

Ohio transportation officials and local police said connecting and nearby roads have also been impacted by the early morning Monday crashes. Commuters are being directed to alternate routes.

There was no word on the conditions of the injured. Air Care was called to the scene.

Police haven’t said why the driver was going the wrong way on the interstate. They say the driver’s car struck several vehicles.
