Yappy Hour Returns to Benefit the Animal Shelter Society

ZANESVILLE, OH – It’s time to mark your calendars and get those tails wagging because the Animal Shelter Society’s Yappy Hour event is right around the corner!

Yappy Hour is set to take place on Thursday, March 7th from 6 to 8 PM at the Zanesville Country Club. Indulge in delicious food, sip on refreshing drinks, and bid on unique auction items all while showing your support for the animal shelter. Tickets are priced at $50 per person and can be purchased online.

This year’s Yappy Hour Big Dog Sponsors are Brandywine Hospital for Pets, Nestlé Purina Pet Care, and Moyer Group Wealth Management of Raymond James.

“We don’t get funds from our local, state, or federal government. Our wages aren’t paid for. It’s through the donations that we’re able to employee 17 people, and mostly young folks who are coming right out of the tech schools. We’re employing them and we want to keep them employed, and we want to give back to our community because our community gives to us. It’s very important for us to be able to help these animals that come in. Today, we have 129 animals,” Animal Shelter Society Executive Director, April Gibson said.

The animal shelter wants to remind everyone about their ongoing Fur-Ever Feline Adoption Special that’s running through the month of March. This month-long special aims to address the issue of cat overpopulation while helping our furry friends find forever homes.

“Any cats that are over 6 months old is $45 and any kittens that are 6 months and younger are $55. That includes the spaying and neutering, flea and tick treatment, deworming, vaccinations, and the microchip. It’s a pretty good deal that you’re getting a very healthy cat,” Gibson said.
