Z.F.D holds their Annual Fill A Boot Fundraiser

ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The Zanesville Fire Department was out on the intersection of Bell Street and Maple Avenue for their “Annual Fill a Boot Fundraiser.”
Firefighters were standing near the Walmart parking lot as well as the Huntington Bank entrance, accepting donations. Zanesville Fire Department Firefighter, Chad Brock said all the money raised goes to Muscular Dystrophy Association. Last year they raised $10,000 for the M.D.A.
“So, M.D.A what we are raising for is Muscular Dystrophy Association. The money raised goes to research. It goes to help out kids locally, whether it is going to camp, an M.D.A camp or anything they might need at the house. You know, wheelchair accessible ramps anything like that,” said Brock.
Brock said that they have been doing this fundraiser for a very long time, and it is something they look forward to each year.
“Typically we do Friday and Saturday. This year, we are going to do This Friday and next Friday to kind of spread it out a little bit. It seemed to work really well last year. We had a lot of people. The community support was overwhelming last year. Like I said, to have the $10,000. When I first started out, we were at like $3,000 and to go from 3 to 10 was just wonderful,” Brock added.
Brock said the firefighters will be near the intersection of Adair, Underwood and Zane Street next Friday.
