ZAAP Artist of the Month
ZANESVILLE, OH– The Zanesville Appalachian Arts Project (ZAAP) Gallery has selected Jessica McKee as Junes Artist of the Month.
McKee said that she first got into photography back in 2007 when she lived in Tennessee. She started out just shooting weddings, but then decided she wanted to branch out and try something new.
McKee said she became very interested in replicating photos from different eras and now that’s what her specialty is. “There more essential shots for women, I like to make it so that they can see themselves in a different era,†McKee said.
She continues to do portrait photography for families, newborns, and even animals.
McKee said that she is also offering victims of home disasters a free family portrait for their new home. “I unfortunately was a victim of that one time, I think it’s important to keep memories and I know that’s one of the hardest thing to deal with. Photos hold so much meaning to people and losing them can be a tragedy to families who have lost their homes,†McKee said.
McKee said that she’s extremely thankful to be named Artist of the Month. She’s also excited to announce that on Friday, June 3rd, it will be her one year anniversary of having her photography business in the Masonic Temple in downtown Zanesville.
