ZAAP Artist of the Month: Rae Gandolf
ZANESVILLE, Ohio – The ZAAP Art Gallery has announced December’s artist of the month who’s also a veterinarian.
Rae Gandolf is a Zanesville based artist who’s connections to animals and the people in her life influence her work which is showcased in a variety of mediums like sculpting, painting, and digital art.
“Well I think it’s really exciting, this month, because Rae kind of jumped in last second to take-over where somebody had to drop out so she didn’t have a whole lot of time to come up with new content to put up. And she decided to do a whole show about her life. So, it spans from the time that she was 15 all the way to now,” said Shelby Spilker, the director of ZAAP.
Gandolf’s artwork will be on display in the ZAAP Art Gallery during the First Friday Art Walk in downtown Zanesville from 5-8:30 p.m. and can be seen during regular operating hours the rest of the month. ZAAP Director Shelby Spilker was willing to share what’s in store for the gallery after the new year.
“So, January is our New Member Art Show so we can really spotlight all of our new members that signed-up in 2025. So, this is going to be the first feature show for a lot of them so that’s going to be exciting,” Spilker said.
